Margaret Gallant
Margaret’s Background
Margaret has an MFA in Creative Writing from MIU in Fairfield, Iowa and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology with a focus on Consciousness and Creativity from Sofia University in Costa Mesa, California. Her breakout fictionalized memoir, The House of Stone and Light, is nearing publication.

In addition, she has an MA in Visual Art and has been a flutist for over 40 years. These days she plays a cedar triple flute more than her traditional silver Gemeinhardt, but she loves all music.

What if a woman who felt trapped in an abusive, loveless marriage, dominated by a ruthless, powerful man, figured out how to get herself and her three children out? What if she met another woman in similar dire straits in an online roleplay gaming chatroom, and they schemed to leave their respective husbands and combine households to afford to start over again? What if they picked the most gamer of ways to decide who moved where—rolling dice? What if they both kicked their husbands to the curb, the one who rolled the lower number packed up their life and drove herself and her kids to the other one’s location? And what if they did all this, sight unseen, only having met over a computer screen? Crazy? Or brilliant? Or both?
